 Laser-Caine® is a prescription strength
topical anesthetic
compounded for physicians for office use only. It is prepared
in a bland
emollient base and contains 4% Tetracaine and 1% Lidocaine.
Lasercaine does
not blanche blood vessels and has become useful for physicians
who do Intense
Pulsed Light therapy, laser hair removal and photorejuvenation. Not for resale.
Recommended Use: Rub into desired area and add a thin coat
of cream over
area. No occlusive dressing required. Onset is from 45-60 minutes depending on site applied. Do not apply over large surface areas or at home. For OTC strength topical anesthetics call 888/664-9990.
WARNING: Do not swallow or apply to oral mucous
membranes. Not for use on children or patients with any history of liver problems or lack of serum cholinesterase. Apply to areas that do not exceed 4cm x 4cm in size. No occlusive dressing should be used. Do not apply over entire
face and neck or patient may absorb too much local anesthetic. Do not use
if patient has a history of allergic reactions to any of
the ingredients. Signs of overdose include tingling, ringing in ears, tongue feels thick, slurred speech, sleepiness, loss of consciousness, seizures and or cardiac arrest. Repeated use can result in sensitization of skin with redness, rash and itching which subsides without treatment in 1-2 days. Tetracaine is an ester local anesthetic metabolized by serum and tissue cholinesterase and of long duration. Lidocaine is an amide local anesthetic of moderate duration that is metabolized by the liver.

Payson specifically disclaims any adverse events associated with the use of Lasercaine by non medical professionals or use near the eye such that accidental entry into the eye could occur. pH 9.2 approximately. Lasercaine is for use in the doctor's office only. It should not be sold or used outside the doctor's office.
